the parable of mustard seed
mustard seed, is one of the smallest seed in the world. it's size is 1/20 of an inch! it's interesting how Jesus used the mustard seed as illustration. even though it's seed is small, but it's tree can grow up to 15' tall. Matthew 17 it says that, if you have the faith like the mustard seed, you can move mountain. wow! last saturday, i was 'forced' to share a short sermonette about the parable of the mustard seed in the student fellowship. i really felt like a mustard seed then, feeling so small and helpless. Why, because it is the first time in my life that i am sharing a sermonette. obviously not knowing what to do and how to do. i told God that i really don't know how i am going to do this, but will try my best. spend almost the whole afternoon trying to get it done. was looking on the net, can find a lot of interesting thing there. also thanks to Fi's 'how to prepare a sermon' notes from tungling too helped me to prepare my notes. after a few hours of preparation, it's finally done. still think that is not good enough though, but i will just leave it to God. i was really nervous during the sharing, praying very hard that the students will know what i am talking about. it was really short i think, and when it's over, really felt lighter. got some encouragement from Helene and Joanna after that. i myself has learned a lesson from there, just like what Matt 17 say, if you have faith like mustard seed, you can move mountain. my faith then was like mustard seed, but with the strength of God, i did what i thought is impossible! i was really blessed after the fellowship too. i also gotten some feedback from Soo Lan, many of the students apparently had asked her questions after the message. she felt that the message really touch their heart. it's really Him, without Him being there, i couldn't have done it! without Him being there, the message could have meant nothing to anyone! thank You Lord!
