fruit of the spirit.... LovE

during cell discussion yesterday night, we talked about what was preached on sunday. before cell i was at daisy's place, going through the lesson with her, then she brought to my attention some interesting thing while i was asking her one of the question for discussion. The discovery is that all the fruit of the spirit come from 'LovE'!
  1. LovE is patient = longsuffering
  2. LovE is kind = kindness
  3. LovE does not envy = goodness
  4. LovE is not self-seeking and is not easily angered = self-control and peace
  5. LovE rejoices with the truth = joy
  6. LovE always protects, always hopes, always perseveres = faithfulness

in 1 cor 13, it hightlighted that although faith and truth are important, but if we have that but do not have LovE then we are nothing, if we can fathom all mysteries and understand the truth about everything; yet do not have LovE, we are nothing also! to have LovE is such a great commandment that HE has ask us to do, it's not an option!

something brother Yun said that reminded me that no matter how bad a person is, or how nasty, how sinful, but GOD LovEs them. we, men choose to LovE people that can be easily LovEd, but GOD LovEs everyone, good and bad! sometimes u tell yourself, but but, i can't stand the way that person talk, or she is always so hurtful, negative, sarcastic, really don't know how to LovE. i am guilty of it too! GOD says, LovE your enemy! i say "GOD, i need YOUR help to do that."

being a cell leader, you can't choose whether you want to LovE this sheep and not that one because they are difficult, or they just get on your nerves. GOD says LovE everyone! it's not easy, but i will learn...

timely encouragement

for those who knows me knows that i love singing, one of my greatest passion. HE has also given me a good voice to sing, i am really greatful for that. something happened just last saturday that makes me worry. i felt something different while practicing for sunday's worship. i was tired, bored and can't wait to get out of there. i don't like the songs that was chosen. in my heart was like, oh gosh... i don't like these songs, Kelvin always use the same songs, so boring. i hear myself saying all that. i tot is just that spurr of moment, i told myself it will be ok on sunday.
sunday came, and it's not the case!! i was not in my usual singing mode, sang very softly, no enthusiastic, not really worshipping. i started worrying then. i told jane over lunch, she goes "die lah, die lah, what's wrong?" i said, i don't know, i am also worry myself. maybe i was just a bit exhausted i guess, i said, let's see how it goes next weekend.
while i was having dinner, Jo called, started talking some cell stuff and suddenly she said something that really encouraged me. she said that " i noticed that there is a difference in your worship leading lately, not just that, even when you were not chairing in cell, it makes people want to worship some more." when she said that, i nearly wanted to cry, (but can't was having dinner outside) it's like GOD is trying to encourage me, telling me that HE knows what i am going through and stuff like that. I was really encouraged by her, thank you Jo.
something new had also happened, i have been waking up in the morning this week in particular with a song in my mind. a worship song, every morning there will be a different song. i am really excited, can't wait to see what new things that GOD has planned for me!!

lessons of life

Some people learn things the easy way, some learn it the hard way. Sometimes ways that they will regret, ways that they never wish they had taken. These are all lessons of life, lessons that everyone have to go through, whether you like it or not. I think these are also ways that God uses to mold us to the 'SHAPE' that HE wants us to be in!

In the pass week, God has reminded me of this particular thing that I did which was not right. HE had to use two of the very important people in my life to warn me. It's like HE is telling me, jpkom, if you continue to be like that, you will loose both of them! When the first warning came, I didn't really pay much attention. Then come the second one, only then I know that HE is really trying to get my attention on it! I sat myself down, and thought about it. Thereafter, I spoke to HIM. I told HIM that I heard HIM, I asked for HIS forgiveness, I asked HIM to help me change, I told HIM that I do not want to do things that will hurt HIM and people around me...I really thank HIM, because HE has warn me to stop before my friends or I get hurt!
I have also learned that, 'trust' does not come overnight. It takes time to build, and once it's broken, it will take an even longer time to re-build! So, becareful with the trust that you have earned, treasure it!
