some thoughts by Daisy Tan
today a friend i was talking to on the phone mentioned this: "sometimes God has to 'force' us out of our complacency by allowing us to go through desperate times..."just few days ago i was reading 'the screw tape letters' (cs lewis) that's about a senior devil giving advices to a junior devil. one of his 'advices'were to "keep pressing on him (the christians) the ordinariness of things"-let him fall into complacency.then, just tonight, i was reading 'pursuit of God'(a.w.tozer-this is one powerful book!!)and again this point jumped up: "complacency is a deadly foe of all spiritual growth" guess for me, with tungling, camp and all the bible classes, i've been pursuing knowledge ABOUT God; theological understanding, but failed to pursue HIM. complacency has indeed been creeping in, being in this 'holiday' season of my life... don't exactly know how each of you are doing spiritually, but just thought of sharing this with you all to encourage us all to 'run with endurance this race that is set before us'. y'know how we always say we'll see each other in heaven? now i not only wanna see that, but really hope and pray that we'll rule and reign together with Christ; that none of us will miss the mark...let's RUN TO WIN!!
